In October 2020, Towpath members got together for the first time since the pandemic for a gingko walk. We explored the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum, located at the National Arboretum in Washington DC. As we appreciated the bonsai, we were inspired to write many poems. We also read aloud our work to each other and some passersby.
Seven members were present. In the front row (from left to right) are Linda Weir, Lee Giesecke, Bill Sette, Elizabeth Black, who led the gingko walk, and Roberta Beary. In the back row are Matt Snyder and Ryland Li.
Led by Elizabeth and Roberta, we are now in the process of compiling the poems into a haiku sequence.
